Soil type: Clay-limestone soil on slopes with good sun exposure providing optimum conditions for slow, complete ripening.
Average age of vines: 40 years
Vine density: 5,400 vines per hectare
Viticulture: Traditional Bordeaux pruning method with two canes. Leaf Thinning, sustained farming, lightening if necessary, complete green cover between the vine rows.
Wine making: The grapes are hand-picked and sorted on a vibrating table after destemming. Pre-fermentation maceration. The wine is left on the skins for a long time. 50% of the wine is run off into fine-grained French oak barrels, and the rest into vats.
Yield: 40 to 45 hectolitres per hectare, on average
