Chateau Monestier La Tour, Cadran Blanc 2021, Bergerac AOC, France
A biodynamic property in the heart of Bergerac
Ecocert ORGANIC certification
The vineyards of Château Monestier La Tour lie in the heart of Périgord
Pourpre, the ‘Purple Périgord’. The undulating hillsides of this part of the
Dordogne are natural, unspoilt and steeped in history, with traces of
ancient châteaux and small medieval villages adding to their timeless
charm.
It was this privileged spot that the Scheufele family chose for their
winemaking venture, a setting completely in harmony with the environment.
This region is known for its commitment to sustainable viticulture, with
more developed organic and biodynamic vineyards than any other.
VINEYARD
The vines for Cadran Blanc also grow on the clay/limestone soils of the village of Monestier, the young (12-year-old) Sauvignon Blancs contrasting with the much older (70-year-old) Sémillons. Grapes are harvested by machine and the wine is aged in tanks. It shows a bright straw-yellow colour, with intense aromas of peaches and white flowers and a good, taut palate. Excellent length on the finish.

TASTING NOTES
Right yellow-green colour with glints of grey. Precise, aromatic nose characterized by notes of grapefruit and wisteria, with a hint of salinity. On the palate, the wine has intensity and finesse. Superb freshness adds to its delightfully lively character. Ideal as an aperitif or with delicate dishes (scallops, seafood salad or white meat).
